Wondering which colors should you include in your wardrobe this season? Here’s presenting the entire colour story of spring /summer 2009.
Spring is synonymous with freshness, vibrancy and new beginnings. Designers don’t quite forget to get inspired from the lively spirit of this flowery season. Bright colours are always in demand this time of the year. This year colors like yellow and electric blue popped up in almost every collection with deeper, translucent and neutral tones tempering down the vibrancy.
THE MAGIC OF BLUE CONTINUES
For the past few seasons blue has been ruling the fashion runways and this season, too, designers like Nachiket Barve, Araiya, Ruchi Mehta splashed the ramp with tints and shades of the colour BLUE. Worth mentioning were Gayathri Khanna and Babita Malkani’s collectons that included an environmental theme titled –‘SAVE THE OCEAN’. The colors and prints used in this collection were inspired from various under water sea life.
Capturing the magic in our dresses and accessories we offer you a varied range of shades and tones of blue.
FASHIONABLY VIBRANT YELLOW
It’s time to brighten up your spirit and wardrobe with vibrant yellow. Designers opted for this vibrant shade that is all about fun and frolic. While some designers such as Priya and Chintan ,Manish Gupta and Gayathri Khanna stuck to vibrant yellow, others such as Arjun Saluja and Preeti Chandra opted for its subdued shade.
We have included a lot of yellows in our collection too, ranging from the vibrant to the softer shades. Not many like or can pull off a really vibrant yellow. For them, what we suggest is pair a yellow accessory or include at least one item of clothing in yellow with the rest of the outfit in subdued shades.
FEMININE PINK AND PEACH
As always, feminine shades such as pink and peach continue to rule this season too. Spring/Summer 2009 colour trends emphasizes on these two shades. Peach, in fact, is thought to be the colour of the year. So do make sure to pick a few pieces in these shades.
HUES OF GOLD AND ORANGE
Gold is back this season and it’s back with a bang. Not only does it flatter the tropical skin tone, it exudes luxury and grandeur. It is a big mistake to restrict gold only to jewellery , it looks great as the color of embellishments along with the base color of an outfit. Gold screams high glam quotient. It renders an extremely bold look.
Its summer, so one would naturally expect loads and loads of white, right? WRONG!! Surprise, surprise but warmer tones, especially ORANGE, stood out in this fashion week. It was overtly endorsed by Atsu, Tarun Tahiliani, Preeti Chandra, etc.
CLASSIC WHITE AND BEIGE
Summer is synonymous with classic shades of beige and white. Therefore outfits in beige and white are simply wardrobe essentials. Many designers had whites and beiges in their collection in the Lakme fashion week and Wills life style.
